Named after the Scottish location for the Fishley Holland Pottery in the 1970s and ‘80s, the Oxnam bowl is part of a new range of beautiful, functional tableware.
Designed for those who delight in the tactile nature of handmade pottery, this porcelain bowl goes through five different processes once it’s been thrown and turned. Before being fired, it’s dipped in oatmeal glaze. Once fired it’s then brushed with white glaze. When the glaze is dry, the linear pattern is incised on the interior and exterior before it’s fired one more time.
An elegant addition to a calming and peaceful breakfast table, its subtle, natural glazing mean the throwing rings are still visible in the base. The perfect size for breakfast porridge or a comforting bowl of lunchtime soup, it feels beautiful in the hand, too.
Turned with a small foot, making it light and functional - the base is unglazed and features our unique Fishley Holland maker’s stamp.
Mix with some of our other ceramic plates and bowls or pair it with the rest of our Oxnam range. A matching side plate and dinner plate are also available to pre-order.

Our bestselling Clevedon jug is also available in this black porcelain handless set, that makes a beautiful and unique gift for cooks. Understatedly elegant, these modern little jugs are wonderfully versatile. I keep a pair on my kitchen shelves and use them endlessly.
We like to use one of them on a tray with our morning coffee by the fire, and they often make an appearance on our dining table when we’re serving tea for friends, bringing a little touch of elegance to proceedings. The pleasing contrast between the matt black glaze and the smooth, slightly gloss interior white is a thing of quiet beauty.

I use these super versatile hand thrown bowls on a daily basis, and have done since they first came back from the workshop a year or so ago. The first thing I want to do when I see a a great new bowl or plate design come out of the kiln is pick it up and see how it feels - and these smooth, porcelain pieces feel so comforting and reassuring in the hand.
Their subtly speckled glaze give them a beautiful warmth, making them perfect for your breakfast granola and a warming bowl of soup for lunch, but they also make an elegant addition to the dinner table come evening.

Our vibrant turquoise version is filled with hand poured natural soy wax scented with seven essential oils, including rose otto, geranium and vetiver, which brings about a rich, sensuous sent with a gentle, slightly smoky aroma. If you like The White Company’s Pomegranate candle or Ren’s Rose Otto skincare range, you’ll probably like this.

Native Americans have traditionally used herbs like sage to clear away negative energies and attract positive ones. Smudging with white sage is also said to release negative ions that fight dust and pollution.
Either way, smudging can be a joyously intentional act that focuses the mind in the present, and can be used before meditation. To use, light your sage stick over a bowl, then blow on it until the flame goes out. The sage will then lightly smoke, much like incense. Holding it over the bowl, walk around your home gently wafting the smoke of your sage stick into every corner of your space.
The perfect table centrepiece, or for using to serve salads and side dishes, this beautiful stoneware bowl goes through a number or processes in its creation.
Once leather-dry it it turned and glazed in our signature speckled oatmeal glaze before being fired. A darker oatmeal glaze is then applied and, once dry, the liner pattern is incised into that glaze. A blue glaze is then used on the rim and to accent the centre after which it is fired a second time.
The effect is beautifully nuanced, creating blurred, soft grey-blue hues.
The result is a unique, tactile piece of stoneware showing the refined craftsmanship of a seventh generation potter - a piece to be treasured that can be used every day.

An elegant new addition to our range of handmade stoneware and porcelain vessels for flowers and grasses, the Honour vase is made from recycled porcelain clay and has a wonderfully textured, tactile look.
