A Christmas Gift Guide - Part I
a christmas gift guide
Part I
I started writing my first blog posts here on Paper Thin Moon around Christmas this time last year, and so I thought, to celebrate, why not put up a piece about two of my absolute most favourite things: Christmas and shopping! I have to confess that I have had SO much fun working on this one, as time consuming as it has been. I've managed to buy some presents of my own along the way and naturally I've found a LOT of things I'd like for my own stocking (husband, if you’re reading this - take note). Others items are bits I've noticed throughout the year and have never left my mind - I've had my eye on that LouLou Avenue print for months and I'm still hopeful that one day it will be mine. A friend told me that this year she is planning on buying all of her Christmas presents from independent shops. When we last spoke, she was still right on course to achieve that admirable goal. Following her lead, I have for the most part tried to stear clear of the big, well known shops and endeavoured to search out some of the more interesting ones from off the beaten track. I feel I should warn you that there are some establishments that crop up more than once (Tea and Kate, anyone?) because I became more than a little bit obsessed with the treasures they had to offer. I've broken it down into two instalments; part one covers gifts for the creative, the homebody and stocking fillers (which is a bit longer than the rest because I really couldn't narrow it down any further), part two is gifts for her, him and the kids. All I hope is that you enjoy looking at the array of goodies on offer and that one or two of them may offer a little inspiration. Happy shopping!
